Kevin Harvick picked up his ninth victory of the season last week at Bristol, and now the second round of NASCAR's playoffs begins with the South Point 400 in Las Vegas on Sunday (7 p.m. ET).

Who will take the checkered flag? Senior writer Ryan McGee, editor Scott Symmes and fantasy expert Mike Clay offer their best bets.

Best bets

Kevin Harvick (+335)

Symmes: Might as well start with the obvious, right? Harvick continued his dream season in the first round of the playoffs, winning the first and third races, and there's no reason to think his fortunes will change in Vegas. Harvick has two wins at the 1.5-mile track and three straight top-10s there, including a runner-up finish in last fall's playoff race. He has led 455 laps at Vegas since 2018, the most of anyone.

Martin Truex Jr. (+550)

Symmes: Truex had a rough first round, with two finishes of 22nd or worse, but he had exceptional speed in two of the three races. Speed hasn't been much of a problem at Vegas, either. Truex won last year's playoff race, and he also won there in 2017. Sandwiched in between those victories were three other top-8 finishes at Vegas. Truex has just one win this season, but he has been knocking on the door for months (nine top-3 finishes since July 12). Don't be surprised if he finally kicks it down on Sunday.

Brad Keselowski (6-1)

Clay: The remaining Team Penske playoff drivers enter the second round nestled comfortably at third and fourth places in the standings. Keselowski is 34 points to the good, but this is a round that includes trips to the Charlotte Roval and the always volatile Talladega. Thankfully, Kes gets the chance to punch his ticket to the penultimate round at one of his best tracks. He's collected seven top-5 finishes, include three wins in his past 10 starts, at Las Vegas. This season has been the Hamlin and Harvick show, but Keselowski has quietly made his way to Victory Lane four times.

Joey Logano (+650)

McGee: Kyle Busch says Logano has no friends in the sport, but I can think of at least one chum for JoLo: the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He owns two LVMS wins, and they've both come in the past three races there. His Strip success predates those victories, with a streak of nine top-10 finishes that dates all the way back to 2014, only his second season with Penske. During that stretch, he has posted a Cup Series-best 397 race points. Wait, I think I just figured out why Busch hates Joey so much. Rowdy is from Vegas, and his only win there was in 2009. He's jealous!

Clay: Logano kicked off 2020 with a pair of wins in the first four races, but his mid-season was littered full of results well outside the top 10. Logano's misfortune began to fade away just in time to make a push towards the playoffs, and he's now finished ninth or better in nine of his past 12 races. He has two wins at Vegas in as many years, most recently in March, and he'll find himself in the next round if he completes the sweep on Sunday.

Symmes: Logano doesn't have many friends according to Kyle Busch, but he has a really good record at Vegas. He's won two of the past three Vegas races, and hasn't finished worse than 10th there since 2014 (a span of nine races). Also, Logano has led at least 25 laps in five straight Vegas races.

Long shots

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (70-1)

McGee: This Ole Miss fan has earned two top-6 finishes in his past three Vegas starts, spread out over two different teams. He finished third at LVMS in February, leading 30 laps in just his second start in the No. 47 car. Stenhouse has led only 13 laps in the 27 races since. But he shaved off his mullet this week, so he should be extra aerodynamic.
